G54PRG course is a comprehensive overview of the principles of programming using Java. Once the course is completed the student would be expected to be able to program in Java and create GUI applications and applets. Design Consultant at Thomson Reuters, Nottingham, UK from August 2001 to Aug 2009

    

Working in leading-edge real-time technologies for large financial institutions and their customers to enable them to conduct FX (Foreign eXchange), FI (Fix Income), MM (Money Market), derivatives and other financial markets transactions in a real-time environment on the Internet, using mainly SQL, C, C++ and Java in UNIX and Windows Operating Systems.

Software Engineer at IBM Laboratories, Hursley, UK from October 1995 to Aug 2001

    

Developed several applications using C and C++ which are used in the IBM Serial Storage Architecture (SSA) for AIX, Windows NT, W2K, Netware, OS2 and DOS. One of these projects was a Web application for Windows NT, W2K, Netware and AIX. There are two versions, one runs as a Webfinity service (Webfinity is part of Netfinity) and the other as standalone. As part of this work I am a co-inventor in some patents.
